125 Gallon SPS dominated tank

System Comments: Used as a staging tank between the closing of my LFS and getting seperate systems implemented in my home, this has been the first real marine "show" tank that I've had the pleasure of playing with. It currently represents most taxa of cnidaria, which with a few problems, I will note this is not the way to host animals. Their requirements are far too varying to attempt in one system.

The sandbed was completely cultured from dry CarribSea oolitic select with grundge from "raw" Fiji live rock cures and "critter seedings" from other systems. It was about 2 months old when added to the tank as it was cultured in the main coral system at the shop and an experimental tank for a big meanie of a black trigger appropriately named "Lord Vader". As well, the rock I used was 7 months past it's shipping cure. This gave me a definite advantage in setting up the system. I have been able to stock it rapidly with SPS, as well, the macroalgaes that sprouted from the rock have given me additional advantage. I feed about 4 oz of food to the system every couple days and only have done 2 water changes. Manifestation of microalgaes are at a minimum, I only need to scrub the glass about every week and a half. Lots of different mouths to feed in there :)
